Etsy has chosen (again) to dramatically increase the fees that they charge their sellers despite site-wide protest. Between this and increasing costs due to COVID, gas prices, shipping prices, and general inflation we've had to reevaluate our prices and make some changes for the first time in a few years. Worldwide shipping delays and supply shortages have made it difficult to acquire some of our raw materials. We appreciate your patience as we work with these factors beyond our control.

⛤ WE MOVED TO MAINE ⛤
As of 10/21/21 we moved from Cranston, Rhode Island to Saco, Maine. In order to cut down on waste, we won't be relabeling our stock to reflect this, but newly printed materials will have our new location.

⛤ Verify Your Mailing Address Before Placing Your Order ⛤
Please be sure to double-check the address on your Etsy account to be sure it is accurate. I process orders VERY quickly and I cannot be responsible for packages shipped to the wrong address. If you've accidentally shipped your package to the wrong address, create an account on USPS.com and, using the tracking number, change the delivery address as soon as possible (I cannot do this for you).

⛤ COVID-19 Shipping Transit Times ⛤
I process orders at the same fast speed as I have been, but USPS is doing its best to keep up with their demands during the pandemic. It is possible that you may experience shipping delays depending on how USPS is doing during transit. This is 100% beyond my control after USPS picks up your order. Call your local government officials about supporting the ultra-hardworking USPS -- whose service is the lifeblood of many small businesses.

⛤ About Summer Transit (temperatures over 85° F) ⛤
All scented candles, tealights, and wax melts are 100% soy wax and are therefore prone to changing shape and melting. If there is a possibility of your order being left in a hot truck or out on a hot porch in direct sunlight for an extended period of time, it is very possible that it will melt. Please consider double-checking the weather and/or upgrading to faster shipping to prevent this. Thank you for your understanding and support!

⛤ Shipping Costs ⛤
On multi-item orders, Etsy does not always accurately estimate the cost of shipping. While I am processing your order, I always refund the difference for the cost of shipping. Alternatively, you can send me a message with your zip code and the items you would like to purchase so that I can manually quote you for shipping.

International (out of USA) shipping costs can be pricey -- I have no control over this.

I make no money off of shipping and you are charged what I am charged to ship your item.

📦 ABOUT OUR STOCK 📦

⛤ Out Of Stock Items ⛤
Modern Magix is predominantly a one-person show, and I am working to restock as quickly as I am able to. Candles take 1-3 weeks to cure after they are made, incense takes 24 hours to soak, 12+ hours to dry. If there is an item you would like to see back in stock, please use the Waitlist feature on that listing - this helps me prioritize what to stock next. Additionally, I am able to fill custom orders if you send me a message (does not apply to sets of multiple scents).

⛤ Fragrance and Essential Oils ⛤
The fragrance oils I use in both soy candles and incense are considered "clean scents" by my supplier - this means they are free from carcinogens, mutagens, reproductive toxins, organ toxins, acute toxins, phthalates, or any cancer-causing ingredients requiring a Prop-65 warning in California (and any similar ingredients not listed).

While many of the fragrances I use are formulated with essential oils, I do not carry any candles that are 100% essential oil. Candles made with 100% EOs smell good while not lit, but they tend to have next to no scent while burning - or worse, smell like fuel. From my own research, I've found that burning essential oils destroys many of their beneficial and therapeutic qualities. Essential oils are best enjoyed topically with proper dilution in a carrier oil, or dispersed into the air with a diffuser.

All of the beeswax candles are without fragrance. I can also make soy candles custom without any fragrance.

❓ TROUBLESHOOTING ❓

⛤ Tealights - Melting Plastic Containers ⛤
The plastic housing our tealights is heat and fire-resistant. That said, sustained flames against the edge of the plastic as well as burning past the recommended 1/4" can result in a melted container, so please exercise caution.

⛤ Incense - Not Staying Lit ⛤
Our handmade incense cones aren't perfect, but they should function as expected.
When I get some stubborn cones, I usually keep the flame going until I can see a red ember at the end -- then I gently blow the flame out to allow it to smoke. Sometimes the incense cone blanks we purchase in bulk from our supplier are defective and will not stay lit. Please get in touch with me ASAP so I can send you a replacement (if you are in the USA) or a refund (for outside of the USA, shipping is nonrefundable).

⛤ What is that white stuff on my [candle/tealight/wax melt]? ⛤
This is called "frosting" -- a characteristic that 100% soy wax products can sometimes take on. This doesn't affect the performance of the candle/wax melt in any way -- it is purely a cosmetic effect. We have observed frosting happening right after the candle is made, and after quite some time has passed. It is a nearly unavoidable effect of working with this natural wax, and we think it adds a bit of unique character to the product.
